WORLD POETRY DAY PROCLAMATION

Poetry is as varied and fluctuating as the present. It is not graven in stone, but is where relationships with the world and with meaning, culture and language are constantly created and re-created.

Each year, World Poetry Day, together with many poetry events, fairs and festivals, affords an opportunity for dialogue and reflection that may help to bring poetry in from the cold.

The particularity of poetry that must be recognized is that it does not convey clear words that can be instantly grasped, but constructs new, unprecedented forms of language that owe nothing to common codes.

Poetry, because it offers a multitude of ways and actual forms of writing, is therefore an area of research and experience that enables the human condition to be reviewed in its entirety. This ultimate reappraisal of the use of language makes for a universal critical reflection on words, genres and categories, the whole range of that which is at all translatable. In doing so it designs the contours of possible forms of dialogue among cultures, histories and memories.

Ensuring the promotion and safeguarding of these forms of exchange and transfer – such could be the focus of this world day which, placed at the service of our creative diversity, can I hope nurture and renew the ability of each and everyone of us to understand the cultural plurality of the world.

UNESCO, hand in hand with poets and poetry readers, makes common cause today with all those who detect inventiveness in language and propose new art forms, venturing to chart new genealogies that may construct anew the interconnections, challenges and vocabularies that underpin our modernity. "THE ENCHANTING VERSES" IS A BI-MONTHLY OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL Poetry PERIODICAL JOURNAL THAT PUBLISHES POEMS FROM THE SUBMISSIONS FROM PEOPLES, POETS AND WRITERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD.THIS MAGAZINE STARTED IN MARCH 2008. -> TO ENCOURAGE POETRY WRITING BY PROMOTING NEW POETS BY PUBLISHING THEIR WORKS.

-> TO SPREAD THE NOTION OF POETIC BROTHERHOOD AND EQUALITY OF STATUS THROUGH POETRIES.

-> TO CERTIFY POETS WITH THE"ENCHANTING POET" TITLE FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION IN POETRY WRITING.

-> TO TOUCH ALL THOSE PHILOSOPHIES AND ASPECTS OF LIFE THROUGH POETRIES THAT ARE BEING FORGOTTEN IN THE PRESENT WORLD.

-> TO LOOK AFTER THE INTERESTS OF UNPUBLISHED YET DESERVING POETS.

-> TO PROMOTE POETS THROUGH PRESS RELEASES IN THEIR NAMES IN PR AGENCIES AND IN POETRY FORUMS.

->ARRANGE AND HOST POETRY COMPETITIONS.

-> TO INVOLVE MORE PEOPLE IN POETRY WRITING BY ENCOURAGING THEM TO WRITE.

ISSUE -VII AUGUST 2009

Dear readers,

We are pleased to inform that we have successfully published the sixth issue of The Enchanting Verses.From about thousand poetry submissions from poets from all over the world it was really a tough, toiling and time consuming work to select only a few out of them.We appreciate the submissions from anybody from any age group and we pay equal attention to each poem while reviewing the works.Each poet has his own perspective to present his/her verses in his/her own style.The style may be rhyming ,without rhyming, highly philosophical, free verse or anything else.No one is underestimated but the best ones has been chosen for publications.The poems have been edited separately and uniquely by Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mukhopadhyaya, Dr. Dinabandhu Nayak, Sonnet Mondal, other subeditors and the editors of the Editorial Department of World Poetry Archive and Forum.The profiles of the editors can be seen in the "Board of Directors" page at the top.Only those works have been published which have got common and simultaneous acceptance by all the editors.Moreover the selected works have been referred to many other professors, teachers and literary intellectuals before they have been published official in the sixth Issue of this Journal.Some of the submissions which were worth appreciating but could not be published in the magazine has been automatically referred for the SEVENTH issue of this magazine.

The major and ultimate aim of Enchanting Verses is to spread the effect and fragrance of poetry among masses and also encourage new poets and poetries by publishing selected poems in the journal.

Moreover we have selected one poet for the "ENCHANTING POET TITLE" with an official certification as decided the Editorial group of The Enchanting Verses.The poet has been selected for this title for his contribution to poetry writing along with their quality of write ups.His name along with the contribution is displayed in Issue -VII section.This title will be given to one poet every two months.The same person is not eligible for the award more than once but the same person has every chances of being published in the magazine if he is selected.We have also awarded three of our contributors with The Editor's Choice Awards.All the published poetries can be seen in the "Issue-VII section" at the top of the page.

We thank all poets for their contributions in the Enchanting Verses.We would expect to get more out of them for the oncoming issue in August 2009.We wish that our readers and contributors would help this journal gain a wider International publicity.Go to the poetry section in the Issue -VII and enjoy your poetic journey and reading.At the very end we would like to say" Don't wait for mentors to appreciate your work.Take pride in your own work on a daily basis."
